The first edition of the Festival of San Mango D'Aquino
It starts today, Sunday, August 12, the first edition of the Festival of San Mango with a two days of intense appointments. It starts with the opening of the living room of the book celebrating its first appointment.
One hundred and two will be the Calabrian authors present at the exhibition that opens its doors after the greeting of the writers in the Hall of the city Council. Present at the event Olimpio Talarico, writer and creator of the prize Caccuri, which just a few days ago closed the extraordinary edition number seven.
During the meeting, a series of recognitions will be awarded to personalities of another profile of the Calabrian cultural world, whose names will be presented during the working afternoon. So, a long evening of popular festival that will begin with the festival of Penne at Sanmanghese, the concert of the Sabatum Quartet, the entertainment for young people by a group of jugglers.
Highlight of the evening, the popular depiction of the pacifier and the young lady, accompanied by fireworks that will close the first day.
Monday, August 13 will be, instead, the turn of the sixth edition of the Premio Muricello, led by journalist Ugo Floro and conceived by Antonio Chieffallo. This year the winners will be the Mafia entrepreneur Gaetano Saffioti and the writer and actress Angelica Artemisia Pedatella, while a special mention of the administration will be assigned to the journalist Agostino Pantano, the university researcher Alessia Bausone and to the entrepreneur Franco Arcuri.
The point of the situation was made by a long meeting at the municipality of San Mango attended by the mayor Luca Marrelli with members of the city council Franco Trunzo, deputy, Francesco Marsico, Budget councillor, Luisa Fiorillo, President of City Council and municipal councillor Serafino Gallo. The meeting has also apparently taken the journalist Antonio Chieffallo, who oversaw the organization of this first edition.
Satisfied Marrelli: «With the establishment of the Festival of San Mango D'Aquino, begins a cultural path that wants to bring our municipality to play a leading role in the region. Let's start with an experimental phase that, I'm sure, will already give us great satisfaction. I thank from now on the personalities that will honor us of their presence».
